Yes, it probably should use std::string:
/** Write the document to a file.
* @param filename
* @param encoding If not provided, UTF-8 is used
*/
void write_to_file(const Glib::ustring& filename,
const Glib::ustring& encoding = Glib::ustring());
But I don't think we can change that now. I will add a comment for the
future, in case we can ever break the ABI.
