Thanks, Meg. I added this to our notes doc: https://etherpad.gnome.org/p/westcoasthackfest2016 so it won't get lost.

Is Matthias the only person who has submitted a talk? It'd be great to have a list of those who have submitted a talk, or at least an update on the number of people.

No, he was just mentioned by Sri as someone we should contact, so I added his name to the list to make sure we contacted him directly. The list above that was brainstorming I did myself so I wanted to send it for feedback before I added names to the speakers list on the ether pad.

After work tonight I can add a list of people who have submitted talks.

Thanks,
Meg
Thanks!

Best,
Nuritzi

Hi,

I just noticed that this was awaiting approval because I originally sent it from the wrong email. Forwarding now, sorry for the delay!

Hi all,

Sri and I had a short meeting on irc yesterday and I'm following up to let everyone know what we discussed and to ask for help with thinking of speakers to approach.

The first thing we discussed was a tentative schedule. We are hoping to get feedback on this from the papers team especially, so if anyone from the team has ideas or objections please comment on the notes below:

* Tentative schedule for LAS GNOME
  * 9am - 5pm talks with 1 hour for lunch and 2 -45 minute breaks
  * 9 - 10 am headline speaker
  * The venue has 2 rooms for talks
     * 5 speakers per day per room - 45 minute slots
     * 30 speakers total
   * Possibly add workshops or other activities, especially if we are short on speakers
      * 3 hour session on porting apps to Flatpak?

The second thing we talked about was approaching potential speakers for the conference:

* Speaker brainstorming:
  * I made a brainstorming page and added some ideas from contacts I have (mostly Chicago-based developers and communities)  https://etherpad.gnome.org/p/LAS_GNOME_potential_speakers

Please add to the etherpad, and let me know what you think of the list! If there are ideas that look good I will go ahead and contact those people/communities.

Thanks, and have a great weekend,
Meg
