Hi everyone,Unfortunately, the team experienced several setbacks and we were unable to hold a regular meeting last Friday, April 8th.Do you guys have time to meet on Tuesday, April 12th at 16:30 UTC? If not, perhaps we can coordinate via email before the next meeting on Friday, April 15th at 16:00 UTC.We are hoping to launch the LAS GNOME website and open up registration on Wednesday the 13th or Monday the 18th. I haven't heard back from Patrick about the registration page yet, so I'm guessing that the 18th will be more feasible. Here's a reminder of our projected timeline for the conference so far:April 13th or 18th (weds or mon) - open registration and call for papersMay 2nd (mon) - (goal: this is what LAS is, submit papers now) make a news post and blast on social media on GNOME,June 15th (weds) - paper submission deadlineJuly 6th (weds) - announce speakers and update website with more infoHere are the things we still need for the website before launch:
- About LAS GNOME page (http://las.gnome.org/about/)
- About GNOME Project (http://las.gnome.org/about/the-gnome-project/)... probably want to beef this up a bit
- Why Sponsor LAS page (http://las.gnome.org/sponsors/)
- FAQ (http://las.gnome.org/faq/) : a few questions are missing. If we don't have the answer to the ones there by launch, we will remove them and consider adding them back in later.
- Schedule (http://las.gnome.org/schedule/): we should try to get a skeleton outline up asap @Sri
- Registration (http://las.gnome.org/how-to-register/): We need Patrick's help to set this up.
Feedback on the website in general is welcome. Just note that we don't have a web designer and are limited to the chosen wordpress template (e.g. we can't change the homepage title's text color unless we re-upload the whole themed). Feedback on the sections we currently have is especially welcome. We also need people to proofread the existing text ;) And, if you have a different photo for the homepage, please send it my way. The current one is a bit cheesy, but we haven't been able to find an image that works with the white text. Please remember the image must be CC-BY-SA, or some other license that will allow us to modify and reuse.Thanks!Best,Nuritzi.............................................................................
