That's a good plan. Well done.

There is no official rule that says that you cannot. If a GNOME Desktop
application's dependency is not in the GNOME Platform, then that dependency
needs to go into the GNOME Platform. Gstreamer is an example of this. That
might change slightly if we have a sucessful GNOME Bindings release set as
well.
