comma trick tweaking

I finally figured that if you don't want the previous list of items you 
launched using the comma trick you have to use "ctrl"+",".

Is there a way to switch that behaviour so that the previous list is 
erased each time using only "," and if you want to relaunch the whole 
list repeatedly you'd use the "ctrl"+","?
