That's a good idea :-)

Works fine with metacity or xfwm4. And it works fine with xcompmgr.
metacity+xcompmgr and I see some small corner glitches, but I don't
think it is important.

Same here.  awesome wm (3.4.9-0~maverick0) + xcompmgr (1.1.5-1). Glitches occur when moving the kupfer window.
