Clean backend shutdown code

Hi Guys,

I have been working on a patch based on your suggestions. I think I have
got most things covered however my testing of cdda so far is a little
disappointing, the mount is unregistered, the sources are closed and
daemon_schedule_exit is called. However it seems the daemon_shutdown
callback never seems to be triggered.

I have attached two patches. One adds some remaining shutdown
infrastructure that my previous patch missed. The other does the rest of
the work.
Is there anything obvious that you can see that I'm missing? I've been
going over this for a while now and I just can't see it.
