Yeah, I think that would be nice [1]. I've asked about this in the bug

[1] : I have some vague plans to check for .xdg-volume-info in
DeviceKit-disks too (from an udev rule [2]). Then we can get the Name,
Icon fields even before mounting the volume, e.g. today it's a bit
annoying this is only available on the GMount and not the GVolume. Not a
big deal with automounting and all, but still... Also, from DKD we can
use the icon in Palimpsest

[2] : there's also other things we want to check; such as OS detection
etc.
