Hey Jeff,

clients don't use gvfs directly. They all use gio and the  
communication with the gvfsd daemon is totally transparent for the  
clients. It's also mostly transparent to the gvfs backends, so either  
if you write a client or a backend you normally shouldn't have to  
worry about the underlying dbus protocol.

In what aspects and on which level (backend implementation, dbus leve)  
of the communication are you interested in? And why? ;-)
