I applied those patches to the 2.22 branch too. There's a good chance
they fix the issue, and I recommend shipping those patches as an update
the first chance you get. We are in openSUSE 11, and it makes a world of
difference.
That said, I haven't tested gvfs-fuse-daemon with large files yet, so
there may be additional bugs lurking there. A backtrace for the bug you
linked would be interesting.
