I had some problems also, but they went away when I rebuilt gnome-guile
against the new Guile 1.3.4 libraries.

I rebuilt from the source RPM at
ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/Linux/distributions/mandrake-devel/SRPMS//gnome-guile-1.0
.0-3mdk.src.rpm
rpm --clean --rebuild gnome-guile-1.0.0-3mdk.src.rpm
rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/<arch>/gnome-guile-*.rpm
