Okay, here's what's going on. You can either have qthreads or a working
guile readline. Not both. Enabling the --with-threads option to guile's
configure breaks it. This is why everyone's package is broken.
I've sent a bug-report to the Guile people. Hopefully they'll fix it in
1.3.5.
