Hello
Finally, I think we have a working usable setup of regcfp at
https://registration.guadec.org/. You can actually register and submit
papers already if you want. (The test instance I mentioned previously[1]
is also still working). I registered and paid a regfee already :-)
Here's a draft announcement of registration. I propose we send this to
foundation-announce@ tomorrow, and then make a press release also as
soon as possible.

GUADEC registration open now!
The GNOME's project's European Conference takes place this year in
Manchester, England between Friday 28th July and Wednesday 2nd August.
Please see the website for details: https://2017.guadec.org/
The GUADEC 2017 team would like to announce that registration for the
conference is now open.
You can register here: https://registration.guadec.org/
We are offering you the chance to book rooms at the University along
with your registration. We have reserved a number of rooms already,
but if there is high demand we will try to allocate more rooms. The
latest we can secure more rooms is 27th March 2017. If you would like
a room at the venue but you find that they are already sold out, please
contact us by email at guadec-organization gnome org, including which
nights you would like to stay, and we will try to make another allocation
of rooms available in early April based on demand. We cannot
guarantee you a room but will do our best.
We also have a range of hotel rooms reserved, available through Visit
Manchester's booking portal: https://aws.passkey.com/go/GUADEC2017
More information about accommodation: https://guadec.org/accommodation
The call for papers is open until Friday 23rd April. We will send a
separate announcement for this.
---
We discussed announcing registration separately from the CfP. I haven't
made a draft for the CfP announcement because, other than the dates,
we can just adapt last years:

OK!
Let me know any comments!
