If we want to use the real exchange rate then I think I have to write
more JavaScript code to make the slider change based on selected
currency, and writing JavaScript makes me sad.

If we keep it pay-as-you-feel then I don't think it matters too much.
And if we do decide to set fixed fees instead then the slider goes
away. (I'll avoid speculating about how much £1 will be worth in 6
months time :-)
