[guadec-list] 2016 GUADEC Keynote Nomination: Cory Doctorow

My (fan of Gnome) nomination as someone who has listened to him. I do not know him, and so he is not aware of this nomination.

Name: Cory Doctorow
Location: I believe he now lives in Los Angeles
Topic of Talk: Present and future of freedom in technology

Intro from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cory_Doctorow :

"...blogger, journalist, and science fiction author who serves as co-editor of the blog Boing Boing. He is an activist in favour of liberalising copyright laws and a proponent of the Creative Commons organization, using some of their licenses for his books. Some common themes of his work include digital rights management, file sharing and post-scarcity economics."

Basically he is an activist and "free book developer". In his talks he defends with great insight the case for free software/computing .

The only downiside to having him there with you guys at GUADEC, would be he giving a carbon copy of the above presentation. But perhaps if asked, he could mix it up, and focus on the free desktop angle. Or not, his high-bird views are really excellent to listen.
