There is only one menu item in "Message status" menu -- "Fuzzy". it does not
need to be a submenu. "Translated" checkmenuitem does not make any sense,
because nothing can happen if you click on unchecked menu item -- the message
does not translate; and if you click on checked menu item -- does translation clear?
If so, then this is the same as Erase all.

Yeah, right point (there's already a menu point named "Clear"), then a single toggle item for "Fuzzy message status" or something similar would be enough.
But the text should then be a bit longer as it's in the "_Edit" menu then, where it's not that clear, what should be fuzzy or so...

All information which is show in other parts of UI is duplicated in messages table,
and messages table needs enormous size to fit all information it has now.
I don't see a point of it.

Hmm, not all information is double-existent, but I would remove the Comments, Number and Line information from the table just leaving the Status, Message and Translation columns over there. This would allow a simple view on all the messages and put the "more detailed" information into the editing fields where they're belonging to.

But a messages table has got the function of giving you an overview about all the messages and you can easily move through the messages which is a quite big advantage - and don't forget: as it's always the case for gtranslator, you can also put the table simply off in the preferences if it does disturb you as an user :-) So, nobody is forced to use the table..

However, UI of POEdit is quite comfortable:
+-------------------------------+
| Original 1 | Translation 1 |
| Original 2 | Translation 2 |
| Original 3 | Translation 3 |
+-------------------------------+
| Original 1 with full text |
| with several lines etc. |
| |
+-------------------------------+
| Translation 1 with full text |
| with several lines etc. |
| |
+-------------------------------+

It is different from gtranslator in placement of the table -- it is above splitted
textboxes for translation, not on the side. Messages are grouped by their translation
status and displayed in different background color (in table).
I do not suggest to go this way, just an idea to think about.

The thingie with background color and sorting is already also present with the current messages table ;-) You can simply use the columns to let the messages be sorted into groups or by status or by whatever-it-might-be.

And if the old coloring methods of the messages table are somehow ported to the new platform, then you will also be getting colored display of the corresponding message groups like defined in the prefs (Untranslated in Maroon, Fuzzy in Red and Translated in Black were the default colors anyway...).

Maybe put everything in docks to let user rearrange like in anjuta2 or Eclipse...
Docks?! (Eclipse isn't known for me now...) You mean tearable special areas which the user could put through the desktop?
