blink cursor when focus on gtk::entry

Hi,

Is it possible to have some sort of indication of the entry is focused, 
like blinking the cursor or have the whole entry field highlighted?

Also I created a gtk entry inside a gtk message dialog but for some 
reason I could not write anything into that entry box. But it works with 
a dialog box.
