Custom style properties for widgets

    Hello,

It seems that there is no way to install a custom style property for a 
widget without using the C API. I've reported this as [1] and proposed a 
solution. Unfortunately so far I got no responses. Is there something 
I'm missing, e.g. some C++ API to set custom style properties I didn't 
notice? Or is my proposed solution to implement something similar to 
Glib::Property, just for style properties, inadequate? Or is the 
bugzilla a wrong place for such design discussions? Or something else?

It would be great if someone gave me a hint where's the problem. It's 
quite puzzling to hear absolute silence regarding an deficiency for 
which there's a contributor waiting to write a patch.
