Running language

Hello,

I'd need to access to the available locale languages list, especially
(but not only...) to get the current language with the appl. is
working, but I don't know if it's possible to know it and, if so,
where to see...

Maybe it's a nonsense question but, is it in fact possible to know if
the programm runs under english, or german, or italian, or spanish...
language ?
