There was indeed a problem with zlib1.dll. A broken one was shipped in
the redist/ directory. I fixed the problem in the installer and uploaded
a new one at
http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/binaries/win32/gtkmm/2.16/gtkmm-win32-devel-2.16.0-4.exe
