Select some Gtk::Combobox slot

Hi,

I have the following problem.
I use a set of Gtk::Combobox to choose one text string from a set of 
possibilities. The choosen string is recorded into a object in memory. I 
can do this operation without problems.

Now I want the inverse. I have the object with a string, which is the 
same has it exist in the Gtk::Combobox. I want to "set_active" theslot 
related with the string in the object (the item has the same text).
How can I perform this operation?
