need gtkmm2.4 installation help

Hello folks,
I am a new programmer of gtk programming.

First i tried to install gtk+2.0 and gtkmm-2.4, But i failed. Then i tried
to install the same environment in WinXP. And i succeed using this

site. I also write some small program with Dev-C++ and successfully run
them. Now, How can i use these programs in Linux machine?

In the gtkmm(www.gtkmm.org) site every documents describe about gtkmm-2.4.
But i can not find the gtkmm-2.4 installer for linux. In fact in the gtkmm's
site there is a version of gtkmm: 2.14.x. Can any one give me any concrete
document like the previous one and also with the link of the file.
