libgnomedbmm available for 2.4 ?

Hi,

I wanted to write an gnome application with gnomedb in gtkmm, but I've
realised that libgnomedbmm is only written for version that are not
available on my ubuntu feisty, and I'm afraid of dammaging my system, if
I install newer version manually ...

Is there a way to get a version of libgnomedbmm working with versions
available on feisty ??

Or is there a way to install those version without dammaging feisty ?
