Which combobox? 
In Gtk::ComboBoxText you have
void 	clear ()	
void 	clear_items () 
methods.

in basic Gtk::ComboBox you will have to clear your TreeModel. For example in
Gtk::ListStore there is a clear() method as expected.

But you don't need to clear it. You can just append to it.
