Gtk::Dialog doesn't get focus

Hi,

I've extended the class Gtk::Dialog in order to make my own dialog (is a 
dialog the only way of getting a modal window??), i open my dialog by 
pressing a button but when the dialog appears the focus is kept in the 
button i pressed. Is this behavior correct? How can i change it?
