problems with closing a subwindow

Hi, 

I am just writing an application, where I am opening a subwindow out of the
main window dialog. But somehow I cannot close it. I tried it with
subwindow->hide() but it tells me that this is an unreferenced id. Could
please someone tell me how I can close it.
