Is it a really big deal to add notes in API reference?
The code maintainers have NO idea what sort of customizations have been
made by every developer in the world using previous versions of their
API . It would seem to me that it would indeed be "a really big deal to
add notes in API reference" for every change that would normaly be
transparent to applications using a particular class.
In other words, if you have coded a derived version of a class and you
upgrade the library containing the ancestor of your derived class, it is
YOUR responsibility to test your derived class. Kudos to Andrew for
doing exactly that.
