The latest version of gtkmm-2.2 (gtkmm-2.2.12) is API compatible with, and 
reports itself to pkgconfig as, version 2.0.

It will also work with GTK+2.4 and GTK+2.6, and will parallel install with 
gtkmm-2.4, if you need that as well, so you can install both gtkmm-2.4 and 
gtkmm-2.2.
