Is this still a problem with newer versions of gcc? I'm inclined to close this
as non-gtkmm if it's just a compiler crash.

If this is really not possible on some platforms then maybe it needs a configure
test and an #ifdef. There are already some similar configure tests in libsigc++
and glibmm.

------- Additional Comments From Murray Cumming 2005-02-01 12:03 -------
gtk_combo_box_remove_text() takes an int position, but we don't use numbered
positions in our API. Nor we do allow insertion at particular points. I think
it's OK to deman use of clear() and append() again.

For more complex uses, people should probaby derive their own GtkComboBox
anyway, instead of using this convenience class.

But feel free to suggest a patch.

Thanks. I have corrected configure.in.

Although atk 1.9 is a higher version than required by GTK+ 2.6, both gtkmm and
atk are on the GNOME Platform Bindings schedule, so it should not be a problem.

------- Additional Comments From Murray Cumming 2005-02-01 12:56 -------
The problem here is that GtkComboBox::Text has a model but Glade is adding
another model. I have added this text to the Gtk::ComboBoxText documentation:

* Note that you can not use this class with
Gnome::Glade::Xml::get_widget_derived() to wrap a GtkComboBox added
* in the Glade user interface designer, because Glade adds its own TreeModel
instead of using the TreeModel from
* this class. You could use a normal Gtk::ComboBox instead, though you can not
use Glade to add rows to a TreeModel that is defined in your C++ code.

> Gtk::ComboBoxText::append_text() does make them show up.
I am surprised, and I think that valgrind would report some strange uses of memory.

Well done.

What is the filename (with extension) of that ImageMap? I have not used one before.

I would prefer to put this in docs/reference/ instead of docs/reference/html,
because the html directory is for generated files and is sometimes completely
deleted.

> I tried to to keep the picture small enough to fit it in a browser on a
1280x1024 display.

Let's not worry about that too much, though that would be nice.

I would prefer to have some vertical space between groups of widgets. For
instance, I would like some space between Window (the last child of Bin) and
HPaned (the first child of Paned). Hopefully this would not make the right-most
side too spaced-out.
