the documentation states: "If you instead want to set the alignment of 
the label as a whole,
use Gtk::Misc::set_alignment() 
<cid:part1.05020008.06020304@i-medlab.com> instead. set_justify() 
<cid:part2.05020802.08070606@i-medlab.com> has no effect on labels 
containing only a single line."
