Hm, how did you configure it? Perhaps the application is looking for
the translation in '/usr/share/locale/xx/LC_MESSAGES/' and you are
installing it to '/usr/local/share/locale/xx/LC_MESSAGES/'. Check what
the installation says when it comes to the .mo files.
