[gtkmm] TreeView expander style and detecting keys

Two questions:

- Is there a way to setup the TreeView to display lines in the expander column between the nodes in the tree (I think it was set_view_lines in GTK+ 1.2)?  

- Also, what do I need to do to detect arrow keys being pressed so I that I can make the right arrow expand the current selection? (I understand how to setup a signal handler and expand the current selection, but GDK_left never gets through to the signal handler - something else grabs it first).
