+TreeModelColumns cannot be of type "UNSIGNED SHORT". Other simple types are
+affected as well.

+However, the runtime errors are not self-explanatory nor is this behaviour
+documented.
+It should be mentioned in the book, Chapter 8, "Model Columns" and in the
+reference documentation of TreeModelColumn or TreeModelColumnRecord.

+I will try to make a patch later today.

+Are there any possibilities to make TreeModelColumn compile time safe, i.e.
+trigger errors if the type is not supported?
