Dear Murray,

I checked the directory. I have a sigc++-1.2.pc file in
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/ directory. Also a sigc++-1.2 directory in
/usr/lib/.I did ./configure --prefix=/usr. I did the same for gtkmm2.
Still the problem persists.

What prefix did you use when installing libsigc++-1.2? Please
double-check the installation by looking for a sigc++-1.2.pc file in
<prefix>/lib/pkgconfig/
