Have you looked at the libgnomeuimm examples?

Yes, and it can not be completed until we have an easily-available ORBit
C++ mapping.

The examples show almost everything. libgnomeuimm mostly just has some
extra widgets which are like gtkmm widgets. The menu/toolbar stuff is
different, but that's demonstrated in the examples.
