[GtkGLExt] capturing video clips

thank you guys for the quick response.
what I need is to capture a video clip from gtk's drawing area widget,
so I need a gtk function (not a program) that would do it.
I can take screenshots as jpg, png, etc of drawing area using
gdk_pixbuf_get_from_drawable, gdk_pixbuf_save.
So I thought there should be smth. similar to take a mpeg clip from
gtk's drawing area...
is it so? Is there something like this in gtklglext?
