Gnome2::* and Gtk2::* Module Deprecation Update

Hi,

The Gtk-Perl team has mostly finished with deprecating Gnome2::* and
Gtk2::* modules that are no longer maintained upstream, as outlined in
the deprecation announcement email that was sent out in October [1].
We have made deprecation releases of these modules to CPAN [2] and to
Sourceforge [3].

Going forward, the deprecated Gnome2::* and Gtk2::* modules will have
their Git repositories made read-only, and no new patches will be
accepted for them.  We will be more than happy to discuss these
deprecated modules on the Gtk-Perl mailing list, however, the priority
of the Gtk-Perl maintainers going forward to concentrate work on the
Gtk-Perl modules that have not been deprecated upstream.

The list of Gnome2::* and Gtk2::* modules that have been deprecated
and uploaded to CPAN/SourceForge includes:

The Gtk2::TrayManager module has been deprecated at version 0.07, but
we currently do not have the permissions required to upload the
release tarball to CPAN; you can find the release tarball on
Sourceforge at [4].

The following Gnome2/Gtk2 modules will be deprecated in the near future:
* Champlain
* Gtk2::Champlain (Never released to CPAN)
* Gtk2::Unique

The following Gnome2/Gtk2 modules will still be "supported" for the
time being (even though their upstream C libraries are no longer
maintained):
* Clutter
* Gtk2
