Unsafe calls to setenv/unsetenv

Hi all,

First of all, let me give a few words of introduction : since 2017 [1], with a few other motivated people, we took over an existing application that was develop on top of Perl, Gtk2 and VTE.  Since then, we managed to upgrade the application to Gtk3 and the latest version of VTE.  We now look forward to continuing our efforts to make our software [2] better for everyone.

I'm very grateful for the great work you are doing and really want to understand more about the gtk-perl binding so that we can bring new features to our software.

With our most recent release [3], we are facing a very annoying issue [4] that I could not fix on our side.

I create a bug report and a very minimal way to reproduce the issue, see:
 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/perl-gtk3/-/issues/7

I was wondering if I made myself clear and if there's any hope I can have to have this fixed in a future release ?

Or if someone can guide me into the right direction to troubleshoot this issue further and help me fixing it.  In particular, I'm not sure where it should be fixed ... Today I would suspect gtk-perl because the same example in python does not produce the same error but, as my understanding is still very limited, I might be wrong.

Any tip or advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your time and collaboration !

  Gaëtan
