gtk canvas future

Hi,

It's about time to ask if any headway has been made
on a new canvas?

Any thoughts on

I did like the GooCanvas, but it seems the
developer has something better to do.... no more development.

I prefer the c style of goo, rather than the c++ style of foo,
as a general rule for me.
