Subject: Build gtk2-perl 1.141 on Red Hat WS 4 from source

Hi,

I am in the process of upgrading my Redhat WS4 installation with the current versions of the following software releases and ran into trouble at the end while building gtk2-perl 1.141.

I successfully built and installed:
  • Perl 5.8.8 successfully built from source
  • gtk+2.10.8 successfully built from source
  • glib 2.12.9 successfully built from source
  • pango 1.14.8 successfully built from source
  • atk 1.9.1 successfully built from source
  • cairo 1.2.6 successfully built from source
  • libpng 1.2.8 successfully built from source
  • pkg-config 0.20 successfully built from source

When I try to build ('make') the gtk2-perl 1.141 source I receive many error messages as follows:

/usr/include/gtk-2.0/gdk/gdkcolor.h:30:19: cairo.h: no such file or directory

/usr/include/pango-1.0/pango/pangocairo.h:62: error: syntax error before '*' token

This same error pointing to line 62, 66, 67, 75, etc..

/usr/include/gtk-2.0/gdk/gdkcairo.h:29: error: syntax error before '*' token

This same error pointing to line many lines in the header

Thanks again,

Michael
