gui update

Hi there,

I'm working on a graphical ftp client using perl+gtk2 and the Net::FTP
methods. I have found some trouble when I try to send or get a big
file since the gui waits for the end of the put or get call. Is there
any way to call a sub with something similar to the open FH or the
Gtk2::Helper so the gui keeps updating?.

Any suggestions on how could I solve this?.
