If you happen to have Gtk2 and Time::HiRes installed, please run this
script a few times, and post your first-run time as well as a typical
value from a few later runs.[1] Your OS, system speed and amount of
ram, and also whether you're using local or remote display, will be
helpful for context.
Running Red Hat 8.0 with dual Intel Xeon 2.8Ghz processors and half a
gig of RAM. Local display, although all the relevant libraries are
located on an NFS-mounted machine.
First Run:
time to load Glib 1.061: 0.153s
time to load Gtk2 1.061: 0.224s
time for Gtk2->init: 0.026s
total startup time: 0.403s
Glib built for 2.0.6, running with 2.0.6
Gtk2 built for 2.0.6, running with 2.0.6
Later Runs:
time to load Glib 1.061: 0.012s
time to load Gtk2 1.061: 0.030s
time for Gtk2->init: 0.014s
total startup time: 0.056s
Glib built for 2.0.6, running with 2.0.6
Gtk2 built for 2.0.6, running with 2.0.6
