How to identify a window to known whether it already exists?
I want to prevent multiple instances of the same window.

I think I need to ask it to the window manager, but how can I do it?

What level this abstraction is?
"application level" or  "window manager level"?

And what the window manager does to change the window's title from eg:
"Window Title" to  "Window Title  <1>" when the same window is opened more than
one time?
