Release candidates

Given the last minute addition of a few version api functions and the 
long-awaited release of gk+ 2.4.0, we've decided to hold off the stable 
releases one more week for extra testing.

Please test the latest tarballs!

  Glib 1.0391
  Gtk2 1.0391
  Gtk2-GladeXML 0.96
  Gnome2 0.94


Changes:  mostly little stuff, docs, bugfixes, etc.  The biggest 
changes involve the move from supporting unstable 2.3 to stable 2.4, 
and some portability fixes on win32.
