hi all,

i'm trying to install gtk-perl, and don't know where best to get it.
I yanked Gtk-Perl-0.6123.tar.gz off ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/perl/,
but the readme says it only is desigend to work with Gtk+ versions
0.99.10 through 1.2.3, and i'm running 2.2.2. should i downgrade my
gtk+ version?

i get a 403 at the gtkperl.org site.

also, i would love it if somone could point me to a good reference for
getting started with gtk-perl. i found what seems to be a good
tutorial[1], but i'm curious to hear what this list has to say.

http://gtk2-perl.sourceforge.net/ should lead you to what you're looking
for. we're in versions 0.9x right now should be 1.0 withing a matter of
weeks. this list is the place to get answers to any questions about it.

if you are wanting gtk-perl to fulfill a dependency you will need it.
Gtk2 is a completely different set of bindings, as gtk2 is completely
different c library. the version of gtk-perl you found is very very old.
you want to find one more like 0.709 or something like that. there
should be several references to it, possibly including download
locations in the list archives recently.
