Full screen applications

Quick question.  How would I make a GtkPerl
application take up the full screen?

For example, if I wanted to create my own picture or
presentation slideshow.  Seems like there should be a
window type option for this?  If it was just maximised
that would be nice (I do not know that either).  But,
how would I have it so that there are now window
manager buttons or toolbars either?
