Not to be a pain,  but don't you think using the Gtk perl list for
this question is a bit counter productive?  Why not try a list
associated either with the perl DBI or the Pg  module.  

This list is for people using Gtk with perl.  Some may know the answer
to your question but most of us will probably not be familiar with the
tools you are using.
