file selection dialog question

Hi,

Is there a way to prevent a user from browsing into a certain
directory using the file selection dialog?

We have a directory here that is extremely large, and when you
browse into that directory inside the file selection dialog
X hangs!  We tried waiting 3 hours for X to come back, but it
never did...
