Is anyone listening - Gtk::io

Hi,

It seems like I´m talking to myself on this list lately.

I have a client / server application in which the client submits a
request to the server and then waits for the server to process the
request and respond.  I recently noticed that package Gtk::io seems to
be set up to handle just this kind of thing.  BUT the package contains
several hardcoded values for things that I need to be able to adjust,
for example the timeout is hardcoded and too short for my server to
complete its processing.  Does anyone object to my having a shot at
improving this package and submitting a patch?  (Should I be using
something else instead?)
