Hi everyone,
Am I just plain blind or is there something magic to this, but why don't
I see $text declared (my)? Forgetting that would produce the
'uninitialized value' error message. Perhaps you should s/widget/text/g;
(or vice versa) and try again?
I suspect that $text is a global variable, which is acceptable programming
practice in very small programs, such as my tutorials examples. :)
Of course, I'm just guessing.
Well, as explained before, the example is used for ... the example :)
The real code is much different, but not really showable to set the
problem (It would require me to put lines and lines, just fo that small
reproductible problem).
As you are here, let me thank you for the tutorial. I has been a great
help to me, and I don't think I would have done anything in Gtk/Perl
without it. It's simply THE must have reference for Gtk/Perl, and I am
looking forward grabbing the next revisions you've talked about.
Stephen, you really did a lot with that tutorial, many many thanks.
Michel.
